Strengthening Existing Social Welfare Projects

Strengthening Existing Social Welfare Projects

The Thuma Mina Movement was founded on the noble  principle and values of lending a hand to the poor, the sick, the vulnerable and the marginalized as artistically articulated by Hugh Masekela in his celebrated song “Thuma Mina” or “Send Me.” It is for this reason that when the Thuma Mina Movement was created, lending a hand to selfless community projects was a priority and continues to be a driving force behind the Movement.

With a presence in nearly all the provinces of the country, TMM will increase its support for existing projects to get them to achieve its objectives. Most of the support of these projects will come from hundreds of professional volunteers of TMM. The Movement has a wide variety of professional skills in almost all areas of human endeavour. For example, TMM is in a position to deploy its volunteers to assist communities with agricultural expertise, educational support and provide a variety of medical and psychological services. Financial support from TMM the various projects would indeed be limited as the organisation is does not possess financial resources to do so. However, the organisation has embarked on a fundraising exercise to support the other programmes mentioned above including this one.
